Artistic Performances

Since its birth Fekat Circus staged more than 500 circus performances in Ethiopia and abroad. In Ethiopia, performances were staged at the Millennium Hall, Tropical Garden, Italian and French cultural institutes, Addis Ababa Exhibition Centre, Sheraton and Hilton hotels, and for several ceremonies organized for different occasions by UN agencies and other international organizations.

In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Fekat Circus team made three consecutive tours in Europe with its Queen Makeda show.

These performances represent the main income-generating activity for Fekat Circus and its artists. At the same time, they promote the rich Ethiopian culture and traditions, with their beautiful dances, music and fabrics. For a foreign audience, it is very often a way to discover some of the enchanting facets of a most ancient African civilization.

The Fekat Circus troop is more particularly skilled in: acrobatics, hat juggling, contortion, Chinese pole, rola-bola, clubs and diabolo juggling, hoop diving, and human pyramid.
